How easy is this to set up?

You can get up and running with Aboard in under an hour using our self-service menu builder and auto-upload feature. Simply create a new menu, upload your PDF menu, review your items, and publish! If you need more help, check out our tutorial section in the app for a walkthrough of the set-up process.

Do I need to train my staff to use your software?

No - simply instruct your staff to have guests scan the QR code provided by Aboard to access your menus and the contact tracing form. If you need to make any changes to menus, simply log into the Aboard dashboard, edit your menu, and re-publish it.  

What about the POS I’m currently using? Is this meant to replace that?

There’s no need to change anything about your current POS or current operations.

Do I need special hardware?

No, you simply need an internet connection and a personal device to access your account.

I'm already using ChowNow / Uber Eats / DoorDash / Olo / etc. to take pickup or delivery orders. How is this different from that?

Aboard is designed to make it easy and safe for patrons to access your menus inside your establishment or online through their phones via a touchless QR code. Aboard does not offer pickup or delivery services.

I want to change a template or further customize my menu beyond what options you have available. How can I do that?

Our pre-built templates are designed to be a starting point for further customization. Make sure to go into the customization options to change colors, layouts, fonts, and other elements to make your menus more custom. If you still have requests for customization, please send us a note at and we’ll see what we can do for you.

Is there a trial period?

Yes, you can try the service free of charge for 30 days to assess its suitability. After that you can sign up for a plan, or cancel.

Do I need to provide credit card information to get started?

No, your free 30-day trial is automatically started when you sign up. If you’d like to continue using Aboard past your trial period, please select a plan in the billing settings section of your account before your trial ends.

How do I edit my menu?

Simply login to your account at, make any necessary changes to your menu, and republish it. Once a menu is published through your account, customers will be able to see those changes through your unique link.

Do customers need to download an app?

No, customers only need to use their phone’s camera to scan the QR code or go to your link to see your menus.

How do I set up contact tracing?

Contact tracing is built-in and can be turned on from the settings screen. Tell your guests when they arrive to provide their contact information through the contact tracing form on your menu before they are seated. Any contact tracing requests can be made from within the app.

What’s the limit on the number of menus and items I can have?

There’s no limit on the number of menus or items in each menu.
